It’s a gastronomic story of reinterpreted Italian cuisine and real passion for life generously expressed in various shades of taste and a whole spectrum of emotions. Exquisite simplicity, respect for traditions and embrace of the present — these are foundations of this restaurant’s philosophy.
The owners have invited Mauro Panebianko, one of the best chefs in Moscow, to develop the menu. And he delivered one that can be described as misleadingly simple — it’s understandable and doesn’t require questioning the waiter to make an order, but when you try the food, it surprises you with impeccable execution. Beef tartar on rice chips with aioli sauce (≈$7), traditional minestrone (≈$3), penne with rabbit, tajas olives and fragrant truffle (≈$7), Margarita pizza (≈$4), salad with tenderloin beef, lentils and a green apple (≈$6), everyone’s favorite tiramisu (≈$4) — that’s just the top of our best choices in La Storia. Make sure to try chef’s herby lamb rack with red onions in tempura, hummus with a bit sweet beetroot, hazelnut and fresh herbs(≈$11). A real masterpiece on a plate.
Another dish deserving special praise is the citron verde cake (≈$5) — candied fresh lime in a light ganache of white Belgian chocolate with juice and lime peel, served as if was just ripped of a tree branch in an Italian garden. A perfect combination of sweetness and light acidity. Desserts here in general deserve a special mention.
The interior of the two-story restaurant is stylish and cheerful. The place is accented by natural wood, gray stone, living plants, clear glass and noble leather. The ground floor is large and airy, with a floor-to-ceiling cabinet for red and white wine, an open kitchen with a wood-burning stove, and a bar with a long counter decorated with panels. Together with a great children’s play room with a lot of games and an attentive animator, the area is homely and perfect for a cozy outing with family and friends. The second floor is executed in beige and brown and is more suitable for special occasions.
