Named after its chef Sebbie Canyon, an Australian found his way to Kazan, having previously worked in Paris, London and Moscow, Sebbie’s is not just another average burger joint. Instead it’s got a thoroughly elaborated concept for both food and drinks. Meat was the main focus at the outset, with steaks and burgers taken very seriously, however, the founders and the chef eventually decided to dilute the macho meat menu with fish and homemade pasta. Homemade mozzarella is also a part of the extended assortment.
The bar at Sebbie’s is also far from generic. The cocktail list has been developed by a student of a legendary Russian mixologist, so make sure to try the venue’s special cocktails. Go for the cranberry-tinged bourbon-based Contrabandisto, or pineapple-rosemary rum cocktail, which are slated to be perfect with the meat dishes.
Sebbie’s is a very versatile venue – there’s a karaoke room, a cigar room, hookahs, and a children’s room is soon to come. There’s also a stage, and live electronic music is the style du jour. The owners regularly invite musicians from Moscow to perform here, making Sebbie’s a notable figure on Kazan’s music scene.
