Bar hopping on Pyatnitskaya Street

Pyatnitskaya street is a beautiful central street a walking distance away from the Red Square and it’s lined up with all kinds of bars, diners and party venues. Here is a quick guide to the best spots to check-out on your Friday night bar hopping mission through Pyatnitskaya.

Louisiana

A country-style steakhouse with not one, but a couple summer terraces, is styled as a tavern (just like the ones we see in Westerns) with waiters wearing cowboy hats. The menu is also all you’d expect from the Wild West – an awesome selection of steaks, burgers, Tex-Mex. The meat is cooked over an open fire giving it that signature smokey flavour, and they have an impressive seafood menu with tuna, seabass, salmon, and black cod to choose from.

Punch and Judy Pub

A true British pub that’s not just a concept, but actually a franchise of the famous London venue. Even the interior was designed by the same Irish designer based on the original prototype. The pub takes up two floors of an old mansion, features live music and a classic elegant wood bar counter with a number of worthwhile craft varieties, some being brewed right there. If you are feeling a bit peckish, order their chicken wings to go with your beer. They are one of the best in town…or should we say Moscow’s bar snack universe.

Chugunnyi Most

Not just a classic bar, but a gastropub, meaning they do put some extra effort into the food menu and not just the drinks. Curiously, there’s no permanent chef here, rather, every 6 months a new one takes over and radically alters the menu so the place never fails to surprise. It’s a rather small venue with a cozy interior, perfect for a date or a catch-up with a friend you haven’t seen in a while. There are guest DJs and explosive parties on weekend nights too, though. A terrace opens up in the summer and they’ve got a couple of screens to watch live sports.

Menu preview: Marbled beef tartar ≈$9

BQ Bar

Stylish and very trendy, with a huge bar counter and a top-notch alcohol selection behind it. Besides being lots of fun and a great place to meet people, this is the perfect place for breakfast (served 4 AM -12 PM on weekdays and until 2 PM the weekends). Are 12 screens enough to satisfy your sports-watching needs? If you’re not into sports, relax with a hookah on the cozy terrace, dance the night away or sing karaoke with your friends. Their cocktail menu is also impressive and is good value for money.

Address: 25 bldg. 1D Pyatnitskaya Ulitsa
Hours: 24/7

American breakfast with sausage or bacon ≈$8

Molly Gwynn’s

This is a well known, tried, tested and trusted pub chain located in several parts of Moscow. A perfect example of an Irish style pub meeting Moscow’s reality and expectations. In other words, Irish pub decor and beer, but European and Russian pop music. There are several British draught beers to choose from and a sizable food menu. To make it even more exciting the waitresses wear incredibly short tartan skirts and sometimes dance on the bar on the weekends.

Address: 24 Pyatnitskaya Ulitsa
Hours: Sun-Thu 12 PM – 12 AM
Fri-Sat 12 PM – 2 AM
