Georgia is one of Russia’s neighboring countries, in the Caucasian mountains. It’s famous all over the world for its tasteful cuisine, great hospitality and amazing wine. It is little wonder that many restaurant owners have tried to transport its unique atmosphere to other places. The restaurant Kazbek is a brilliant example of a restaurant that not only offers mouth watering Georgian dishes, but gives its guests a taste of true Georgian hospitality.

Inside, the restaurant looks like a typical Georgian apartment, somewhere in Tbilisi (the capital of Georgia). Old hand-made carpets, enormous jars, ceramic plates with ethnic ornaments and a huge wood stove where they bake bread and hachapuri (traditional Georgian flatbread with cheese) make an intricate and stylish mix.

There are many old things incarnated in the design to make it look more natural as if this place in itself is an antique. The walls are of very bright turquoise color, which is a tribute to the modern tendencies in design.

This place also has a pretty terrace with a view on the Moscow river, which is one of the most beautiful in the city. It’s open not only in summer, but also in colder seasons, when you can enjoy the view and live Georgian music covered in a soft blanket.

Speaking of food, the menu is made up of only traditional Georgian dishes. Here you can try hachapuri, hinkali (Georgian dumplings with broad and mutton), satsivi (chicken or crab under chestnut sauce) or giongioli (traditional appetizer made from flowers of the giongioli tree) etc. The restaurant uses as many authentic Georgian products as possible; although, there is also such a chef invention as hachapuri with black truffle and ham on the menu.

The wine list is rich and pleasant. You may choose from a great variety of European still and sparkling wines, however, we recommend the Georgian or Russian ones like Saperavi, Kindzmarauli and Abrau Durso.
