Moscow is a multicultural city, so if you’re up to trying something different from burgers and pasta for dinner, dig into the Lebanese traditional cuisine in Laffa Laffa in the Patriarch Ponds area, by the Synagogue and the Malaya Bronnaya Theater.

In this restaurant, his team cooks the most popular Middle Asian street food dishes, which never go out of fashion: baba ghanoush (mashed eggplant), hummus (mashed chickpeas), and falafel (fried balls made from beans). To be even more authentic, everything is prepared on charcoal only.

However, the most interesting and appetizing part of Laffa Laffa’s menu contains dishes served in laffa. Giving the name to the restaurant, laffa is a special, very thin flatbread, which is used as a wrap for shawarma, or just for meat with fresh greenery and cheese.

The main particularity of laffa is the fact that it becomes dry in a blink of an eye… For this reason food is prepared in Laffa Laffa very quickly, and the flatbread is baked right before serving! For instance, shawarma will be on your table in about 1 minute, but the staff wants to do it even faster in the future, so it’ll be served in 40 seconds. This isn’t fast food, this is super-high-speed food!

The guest holds the reins here: before ordering you may choose shawarma in laffa (ordinary and yeastless options are available) or on the plate (the serving is slightly bigger).

Then, you may choose various ingredients for the filling and customize your dish completely: decide on the main ingredient first – chicken, eggplant, cheese, falafel or potato – and add vegetables and sauces afterwards. For spicy food lovers they offer “Green monster” sauce with a super hot Lebanese ingredient called skhug.

When you get your piping hot shawarma right from the stove, don’t forget to take a #foodporn picture – the interior provides an amazing background for that! Stylish graffiti on the brick walls will create an impression that you are dining on the street of exotic Beirut, without leaving Russia.
