There are a few places that can boast of a really original concept, and Meat Puppets in Moscow is definitely one of them. Young, bold and environmentally friendly this place is setting trends in the Russian restaurant business.

Meat Puppets’ point of focus are steaks. But not regular steaks. Being concerned about the environment, they call upon a more responsible consumption, so the chefs of the restaurant use the entire cow. What does that mean? Well basically, all parts are acceptable and used to prepare dishes, unlike in many of the fancy meat restaurants, where only 10% of the cow is used. This means less waste, more meat and lower prices – “Eat the whole cow!” – is Meat Puppets’ motto.

Interior wise, the place draws inspiration from the old-fashioned Irish pubs, with wooden bar counters, bright posters and semi-darkness. However, the owners tried to make it look more modern with big windows and stylish décor. The restaurant also has a comfortable open-air zone, where you can relax and enjoy your meal during summer.

There are 11 different steaks in the menu from the “alternative” parts of the cow, like shoulder or neck. You can order some premium steaks like Ribeye or New York, if it’s a must for you, but bear in mind that here, other options are also available.
The menu also has options like fried tongue, with pumpkin and millet or steamed beef tale. You may want to try the delicious ribs with barbecue sauce, which is one of the most popular dishes in the menu.
