This hostel feels like a vintage apartment thanks to art-deco inspired design. The location is also super central: the Kremlin, the Cathedral of the Archangel Michael, the Sverdlov Park and Nizhne-Volzhskaya Embankment are all a short walk away. As for the rooms, they have 4-bed and 8-bed mixed dorms, female-only and male-only dorms, each accommodating 6 people, and a private room for 3 guests.
The bunk beds are comfortably wide, and you’ll find hanger rails, mirrors, and lockers in the air-conditioned dorms. A common bathroom has 3 shower cabins and 3 toilet cubicles, hence morning “traffic jams” are possible. Towels and slippers are included, and you can always ask for a hair dryer, iron and washing machine free of extra charge. You are always welcome to hang out in the lounge, play PS3 or read a book from hostel’s small library.
Located near the railway station, it’s the perfect stop-over point if you are in transit through Nizhniy Novgorod. This hostel offers mixed and single sex dorms accommodating 4 to 8 guests (≈$7–9). The minimalist decor of this hostel brings out the signature Soviet-time parquet floor and lovely crown moldings. High ceilings make the rooms feel spacious and airy. And again, the coveted historical center location. Choose between regular dorms (≈$9) or a two-bedroom suite with a separate kitchen and two ensuite bathrooms (≈$95) (this room is aimed at couples with kids or groups of up to 4 people travelling together and valuing their privacy).
When it comes to common facilities, you can use the kitchen, coffee machine, washing machine and the lounge area to make yourself comfortable.
