Why isn’t Russia one of the worlds biggest, most popular tourist destinations?

A young blogger from the UK together with his father sharing their experience of visiting Russia for the 2018 FIFA World Cup after their first two weeks in the country and busting some of the myths and stereotypes created by traditional media in the UK:

Myth N1 — Russian hooligans will beat you up the minute you walk into the country
Myth N2 — Russian are sour, unfriendly, unsmiling people
Myth N3 — Russia is a grey, flat, miserable country
Myth N4 — Taxi drivers are going to completely rip you off
Myth N5 — Everything is expensive in Russia
Myth N6 — The World Cup is going to be a complete disaster, because Russian can’t organise anything
Myth N7 — The Russians hate the English
Myth N8 — Russian food is terrible

Watch the video to find out what the real experience of the two football fans was compared to the expectations set up by traditional media.

“Why isn’t Russia one of the worlds biggest, most popular tourist destinations?…I want politicians seeing this, I want all your mates and families seeing this…I want the Russian people to realize what the English people really believed and what they really think about Russia. This Russia and England non-friendship has to be stopped. We have to be friends!”
